いつもの大阪駅前第ニビルの会議室で、恒例の18時開始の通常例会。
今回の参加者は初参加の方3名＋リピーター12名でした。
さて、今回のトピックはこちら。

Topic 2. Making computer programming as a compulsory subject in schools
Agenda:
Should we really make computer programming as a compulsory subject in school
education?
Q1: Have you ever learned computer programming? If yes, what made you learn
computer programming?Please share your experience.
Q2: What can we expect as a result of learning computer programming?
What are merits and demerits of learning computer programming compulsorily,
not voluntarily?
Q3: Is there anything we should learn before learning computer programming?
Q4: Would it be better to start learning computer programming from an early
age?
From elementary school? From junior high school? Or from high school?
Should we really make computer programming as a compulsory subject?
前半は5名ずつ3つのグループに分かれ、トピック１についておしゃべり。
お昼間会に来る時必ず最低１点はユニクロものを着てくる人、その日まさに上下ユニクロの人、等々、女性には話しやすいトピック。
男性は「服装とか、興味ないんで…」という方がやはり多いようですね。
短い休憩の後は、3人掛けの長机５つを六角形（！）に並べて15人全員でトピック2についてディスカッション。
文部科学省が小学校、中学校、高校で「プログラミング」を必修科目にするとの方針を決めたとのことで、その意義についてのトピックです。
前回5月14日のトピック「AIと、（人間の）仕事」にも微妙～につながるトピックですね。
参加者15名中、プログラミングを勉強したことがある人は3～4名ほど。
必修化は「（生徒の）可能性を広げてくれる」という発言が印象的でした。
学校教育には、「（もともと興味がないものにも）触れ合う機会を提供する」という働きもあるんですね。
時代の趨勢という気もするし、「プログラミング」できたらよさそうだけど、早ければ早いほどいいのか…本当に必修化すべき…？と本題に入りかけたところでタイムアップでした。
フージャーズのディスカッションは、単に「英語で話す」だけでなく、テーブルを囲んだ参加者全員で、よりよい理解や結論にたどり着く為に議論を深めていきたいと考えています。
