Global Climate Change

TOPIC 1
What is Your Favorite Manga?

I just have finished reading all the stories of ”Attack on Titan” or "Shingekino Kyojin" the other day. I was so impressed. Especially, the composition of the hole story was well organized, and I loved how it misleads the readers intentionally. I sometimes read Korean and American comics, but I can say Japanese ones are the best!
I would like to share with you our great culture today.

1-1.Do you read manga books, or watch animation? What is the last manga you read?

1-2.What is your favorite Manga, and why? Please share the brief story with us.

1-3.Are there any particular scenes or characters you like?

1-4.Are there any manga stories which influenced your life or your way of thinking, and how?

TOPIC 2
Global Climate Change

Even though, the problem have come around since 1970's, we, humans yet haven't figured out how to carry on the sustainable development. We all know it affects every human beings in every countries on the earth. Our society and our life is based on the environmental condition, and we sometime are powerless in front of the mother nature. At the UN Climate Change Summit in NY held in this September,
a Swedish campaigner Greta Thunberg has made a passionate speech to world leaders. Her speech did actually "Wake me Up", so I would like to discuss about this topic.

Please take a look at the website below for the basic info:

2-1.Please listen to Greta Thunberg's speech before the session. What was your first impression of her speech? Why did you feel that way?

2-2.Inspired by her speech, many large demonstrations by young people were taken place in over 150 countries. However, not many young Japanese people are aware of this problem. Why?

2-3.There are many counter opinions about the UN climate change reports or IPCC reports, such as the climate change is the natural cycle and nothing to do with green house gasses, or it is induced not by the greenhouse gasses but by the vapor or some other materials and so on. What do you think about these discussions? Which assessment do you support, and why?

2-4. Unfortunately, Japanese government couldn't propose any concrete policies or pathways to achieve the goal to reduce the greenhouse gas emission at the summit, even though it is still far from. (Japan is suppose to reduce 26% of greenhouse gas from 2013 by 2030, but has only been succeeded to reduce about 8% so far)

The current government even seems they don't care about CO2 reduction anymore. The U.S government withdrawn from this action already. What is the best way Japan should take? Is there anyway we can take "both";the environment and the economical growth, and how?
